Biking Denmark

The story is not completely without telling about the bike ride around Danmark. We had side packs, a small front pack, and a pack on top of the frame over the rear tire. We carried just enough clothes for two to three days, which included outer garments for changes of temperature and the chance of rain. The pack of the rear tire include tools for any unexpected bike repairs and tire repair and replacements. We did not include sleeping bags nor a tent because we planned to stay in hotels.

The plan was to bike about a thousand kilometers total doing about 100 per day using mostly bike paths which are prolific in Danmark. Some were cross country without site of a road, most were completely separated from roadways by a 10-meter median. The worst was a separate bike path along side the roadway itself. The only time we were actually on a roadway was when we were way out in the country side on small back roads and that was rare.
